NYC Exercise Classes for the Weekend

The economy is still bad and many people are getting rid of their high-priced gym membership.  Here are free or low cost alternatives to exercise.

Month of August

WHO:  Chelsea Piers

INFORMATION:  The sports center is offering potential members who join in August $100 initiation fee with the month of September free.  Check out www.info.chelseapiers.com

You may not want to think about the cold weather or cold weather sports or since it has been hot and humid, here is another ongoing activity at Chelsea Piers.

WHAT:  Ice Skating Lessons

WHAT:  Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp

WHAT:  Boogie-Woogie Weight Loss

TIME:  11:30 AM-12:30 PM

INFORMATION:  Upbeat cardio class focused on cardio burning

WHAT:  Boating at Brooklyn Bridge Park

WHERE:  Pier 1, between Old Fulton and Furman Streets

TIME:  11 AM-3 PM

INFORMATION:  Get out in the water for kayaking with the Gowanus Dredgers and the Village Community Boathouse at the newly opened Pier 1.  Children younger than 18 must have an adult guardian present.

August 15
