BlogHer 2010 Review
BlogHer 2010 had come and gone. It’s hard to believe. The two day event happened so fast and so much information to take in. I have to say I am was feeling quite lethargic on Sunday, post BlogHer and needed to recuperate from all of the excitement. My head is still swirling.
I had a fun time hanging out with Lori, author of Chic Geek Designs. She is as sweet in person as she is online. And connecting with other bloggers too like Michelle, author of When I Grow Up. We may not have learned much from the workshops, but we did connect with other bloggers who gave us tips, etc. It was great meeting Abby and Mandy from Steals and Deals. In addition, I met people who mentioned other conferences and plenty of opportunities to write for different blogs. We also met many sponsors and after speaking to them, I had many ideas for my blog.
One lady who inspired me the most is Christine Baze from Yellow Umbrella. Christine is a cervical cancer survivor, the first survivor of cervical cancer I ever heard of or met. Cervical cancer is usually diagnosed at the later stage and is quite deadly. Christine is so passionate about spreading the word and helping women understand their bodies. She is a role model and I immediately became passionate in her cause as well. Since I am a nurse and my blog is about health, I will be writing more about cervical cancer awareness.
Besides being a cervical cancer survivor, Christine is a singer and you will be able to hear her singing on her website.
Between the networking and getting cool swag, Lori and I were able to get some pictures taken with the Pillsbury Dough Boy, Wonder Woman, Jimmy Dean Sun, Hamburger Tuna Helper Glove, Marmaduke, Hallmark Christmas photo, My Little Pony, picture with the Statue of Liberty in the background, picture of me winning a tuna package and a black and white picture of me holding a megaphone. And that is not all, Lori and I were interviewed by Pepsico and made a BlogHer greeting with JVC. In addition, we got our foot massage, spoke to two physician authors, and got our cholesterol and BMI measured. So much we did! I can go on but I won’t. Next year, BlogHer 2011 will be in San Diego. If I had this much fun with Lori this year, I know next year it will be a blast with her and Rebecca from Design R.

Aw, thanks! I had so much fun! I’m ready to do it again! ;-) I haven’t checked out my JVC video yet though. Have you?

Abby, It was definitely a crazy weekend. Looked like you and Mandy had a fun time outside the conference and scored some great deals at FAO Schwartz and Avon. I don’t go by that area anymore so I did not know about the Avon store.
