{be well} Cleanse, Nourish, and Rejuvenate
Yesterday, I wrote a post on vitality and reasons people lose their vitality. Today, I will write about how to get your vitality back.
Did you know that your gut is connected to your brain and which is also connected to your mind? The body and mind are all interconnected and work together.
Quick stats
- 60 -70 million (1 in 4) people suffer from digestive issues
- More than 6 million diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are done for digestive problems
- 45 million people visit their health care provider with digestive complaints
How to stay vital and focused?
There are 3 steps:
- Cleanse
- Nourish
- Rejuvenate
If you are stressed, your gastrointestinal system may take a toll on your body. You may experience heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, gas, or even an upset stomach. The reasons for cleansing, nourishing, and rejuvenating? Lack of movement or exercise, stress, and digesting system not functionally optimally. Stress may cause a person to eat poor quality foods. Foods high in sugar content or processed foods. In addition, there are environmental chemicals and toxins in our foods.
Bad or poor quality foods contain these:
- high fructose corn syrup
- GMO – genetically modified organisms
- MSG – monosodium glutamate
- food additives – preservatives, flavorings, colors, or chemical stablizers
- trans fats
How to cleanse?
- Eat in line with your metabolic clock; don’t eat too late
- Practice a cleanse (juice or salad/fruit cleanse) or detox – adhere to an overnight fast
- Cleanse within the change of seasons
- Exercise aerobically 3 -4 times a week
How to nourish?
- Eat high quality food
- Eat at least one cooked meal a day
- Select nourishing herbs and supplements along with your cleansing diet
- Belly breathing – Breath through your diaphragm: lay on your stomach, rest on your forehead, breath through your stomach moving back and forth
How to rejuvenate?
- Properly cleansed body and mind
- Source of nourishment
- Relax
- Build abdominal strength
- Meditate: improves cognitive function, improves mood, and reduces fatigue and anxiety
Vitality Planner:
- Outcome
- Intention
- Action steps
- Target date
Even if I give you all of these steps to get your vitality back, in reality, will you really do it? Because without action, your goal of increasing vitality in your life will fall in the wayside. It takes 21 days to develop a new habit until it becomes one.
How?
- Outcome: create a new habit, allow for flexibility and change
- Intention: what is your intention; what fuels your desire
- Action steps: cleanse, nourish, and rejuvenate
- Target date: assess in 21 days
Are you willing to try these steps? Write me a comment below on your experiences.

Great posts! I know this is something I really need to work on. Lately my eating hasn’t been great or consistent. But hopefully now that things *may* have settled down some, I can focus on other things, like eating better and little exercise, etc. Thanks! I really needed the reminder! :-)

You are welcome, Lori. I too have swayed away from exercise and my nutrition. The hot weather can do that to you.
