{be inspired}: Happiness for the Week

This week has been a pretty emotional week for me and my family. My dear aunt was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in mid-May.  Mother’s Day to be exact. The cancer spread rapidly and metastasized in her liver and surrounding organs. The prognosis is looking pretty grim. I thought about what made me happy this week so I can celebrate my joys and my life.  I still feel sad about my aunt. I just need a pick-me-up.

What made my happy or at least smile this week?

1.)   Seeing my aunt one last time

2.)  Winning a photograph from Kind over Matter. My first win from Amanda and Jenn after weeks and weeks of submitting my comments, I finally won!

3.) Seeing my other aunt from Canada and her family

4.)  Spending time with family on the 4th of July

5.)  Short work week

6.)  Eating Maryland crabs

sending you big hugs! love that you found the joy. my mom has been diagnosed with a rare disease for which there is no cure or treatment. your post is a gentle reminder to me that there is still joy and that it is okay to focus on that as well. ciao!

The picture reminded me – I very often drink a cup of nettle tea with a slice of lemon and honey if I wake from sleep feeling a little anxious, it seems to sooth and comfort.

I’m wishing you soothing, comforting sustenance to pick you up!

Nadia, I am so sorry to hear about your mother. That is heartbreaking to hear there is no cure. Thank you for the hugs. So generous of you considering you too have your mother to think about. I am sending you BIG HUGS too.
