Evaluating My 2010 Goals
In early April, I re-visited my 2010 goals to make myself accountable that I am indeed setting out what I intended to do in 2010.
Here are my 2010 goals:
To launch my life coaching business
a.) Establish a client base – have 10 paying clients
b.) Network with my fellow coaches, online and offline
c.) Join ICF
d.) Attend an ICF monthly meeting
e.) Re-write my business plan
f. ) Write my marketing plan
g.) Take business classes (taken one, so far – got more to go)
h.) Offer group coaching to my clients
i.) Offer teleclasses
I put starting a coaching business on hold for now until I know for sure it is what my heart wants to do. I know I do want to start a business, I am just not sure what type of business, at this moment.
Blog part-time
a. ) Write blog posts three times a week (minimum)
b. ) To eventually make money from blogging
c.) Become a guest blogger on someone else’s blog
d.) Take a blogging class
e.) Learn more about the technical side of WordPress
(going to Wordcamp Boston, signed up for NY Blogging meet-up)
f.) Have 1,000 Twitter followers
I am blogging part-time and am posting more than 3 times a week.
I took Holly Becker from Decor8, Blogging Your Way e-course from January – March.
I hired a graphic designer to design my blog header, business cards, logo, and avatar.
To meet new people (online or offline)
a.) Meet and interact with the other students in my blogging class
b.) Meet people who share same interests offline
I have met some fabulous women from my BYW class, twitter, Unravelling, and from Jamie Ridler’s community of Wishcasters.
Do something creative every week, other than blogging, such as writing, making greeting cards, or scrapbooking
a.) Attend meet-ups that are creative and allows me to utilize my right brain more
(Attending a Valentine card making/rubber stamping meet-up on Jan 30)
b.) Write or journal everyday
c.) Take writing classes online or offline
I learned how to take better pictures from my BYW class, from Leslie, author of The Creative Mint.
I am currently taking Unravelling with Susannah Conway.
I am currently taking a visual journaling class called Nostalgic Musings with Hope Wallace Karney.
Lose 5 -10 pounds
a.) Go to the gym 3 times a week
b.) Practice yoga at least one day a week, preferably two days a week
c.) Eat meat three times a week
I have lost 2 lbs.
I am currently on a detoxification cleanse.
d.) No desserts, cookies or chips This does not seem realistic so I am changing it to: eat desserts, cookies, or chips three times a week
e.) Eat fruits and vegetables five times a day
I discovered the alkaline diet from the Alkaline Sisters and incorporating more fresh vegetables in my diet.
Focus on one activity/task at a time, unitask
a.) Don’t overbook my calendar
b.) Don’t overcommit
I am saying “No” to more events or people in order to have more time for activities that I enjoy.
Minimize stuff in my apartment
a.) Throw out clothes, shoes, purses, books, etc. that no longer serves me or love
b.) De-clutter workspace
I took the Throw Out 50 Things Challenge from Jess, author of Makeunder My Life.
I am still in the process of simplifying my environment and my life.
Spend less and wisely
a.) Buy only what I need and not want
b.) Buy wisely – use coupons, buy on sale
c.) Save 20% of paycheck: 10% to 403B and 10% to automatic savings
(doing this now – 403 B is my employers and bi-weekly ING automatic savings transfers)
d.) Eat out one night a week
e.) Rent books from the library instead of buying books
f.) Before I buy, think about if I really need it and where I would put it
I only buy what I need, like food.
I have not bought any new clothes, shoes, or purses until I purge the old ones in my closet.
Read 1 book a week and reflect
I make time to read everyday before I go to sleep.
Volunteer my time to causes I believe in
I have volunteered three times since January.
(Currently volunteering for Upwardly Global)
Schedule in “ME” time to do what I love!
I schedule one day during the week to one of my creative pursuits.

You look like you're doing a good job with your goals! I like how you have them broken up into sections. Makes it easier to go back and track that way.
Oh it's great how you set and pursue your objectives. And you should be really proud of what you have accomplished already!
(Following our own plans for ourselves feels so good! Wish I could do that more often…)
I totally love your header. So appropriate, lovely to see, fresh! Can you tell me who's the talented designer behind it?
Ciao!
(And thanks for adding my button! Just let me know when you have yours and I'll be happpy to exchange!)
Dear Anna, Wow I'm really impressed your action plan and accomplishments!! It is fantastic and truly inspiring. I need to make a similar list. I tend to cruise along….
How are you going with the Unraveling and Nostalgic Musings classes? Unraveling is on my list of classes I'd like to take.
I like your new blog layout. Its really clean and looks professional.
Have a great week! :)
Thank you all for you support. Gosh, as I was going over my goals, I felt like I have not accomplished much until I read all of your comments. See, how hard we are on ourselves.
Wini, The unravelling class is great. You need a lot of time to work through the exercises though. The visual journaling is a little slower because I am new at it. I keep watching her videos just making sure I am doing everything as Hope does it. Thanks so much for the compliment about my blog layout.
Suze, Nicole from Byrkit from NB Creative found via Etsy designed my blog header. Here are her websites: http://nbcreative.us or http://www.virb.com/nbcreative/photos
I am living your blog button on my blog. It adds a nice touch.
Lori, Thanks for your support. I realized I needed to add new goals that I thought of afterwards.
