On the Right Path
I am back from vacation (SIGH). Thank you all for being faithful readers. I had an awesome time on my cruise to the Western Caribbean. Like I said before, I pampered myself and reflected while I enjoyed the sites, beaches, and the plentiful of food. You gotta love a cruise. You never go hungry. Actually, I am still full from all of the food that I ate. And the worse part, I gained 3 pounds (YIKES)! If I did not have such a bad head cold and cough, I would be at the gym now.
I definitely think all of the money that I spend at the spa was worth it. I won’t mention the amount because it is ridiculous. I spent more money on the spa than I did on alcoholic drinks, which is a good thing. It is my overall wellness that is important, right? And the explanation my masseuse and esthetician, Sunshine, gave me about the foods that I eat, she suggested that I eat more alkaline rich foods, is so accurate from what I read before my cruise, on the Alkaline sisters blog. After reading Julie and Yvonne’s blog, I reflected on my own nutritional choices. I TRY to eat healthy but eating healthy just doesn’t cut it anymore. I need to make intelligent food choices and include foods that are more alkaline or basic than acidic. Our bodies need to have a balanced pH of 7.35-7.45, below 7.35 is acidic and above 7.45 is alkaline. I won’t get too specific here. I loved that Julie and Yvonne included an alkaline food chart so you or I don’t have to look all over the internet. I still have a lot to learn about the alkaline diet though.
Sunshine also spoke about the effects of stress on my body and skin and what she said is pretty accurate from what I have been learning since launching my blog and reading other blogs. I understand now why it is hard for me to lose that last 5 pounds, not including the 3 that I just gained. It is not because I am not working out hard enough, it is because there is a build-up of toxins around my fat cells. And the seaweed wrap that I received from Sunshine helped me get rid of those toxins but I need to maintain it now that I am not on a cruise. I started a 3 month natural detoxification program to help my body balance the pH level. It is basically a cleanse that will help remove the residual build up from my colon, thus giving me more energy. So far, I am feeling good. I do not need as much coffee as I did before to stay awake, but I still need to lose those extra pounds.
Thanks for letting me share my “AHA”moment with you. I now know that I am on the right path. You know you are on the right path to your purpose because of synchronistic events happening in your life. But, you have to pay attention.

This is very interesting! I went over to check out their blog and might be reading it more. What detox diet are you following? Can you send me more information on that? It’s been mentioned to me that I should do that for various health reasons and I’ve resisted but now I’m starting to think I might give it a try. So I’m starting to research it a little more. Anyways, any information that you have would be very helpful! Thanks!

Lori,
I will be more than happy to tell you which detox cleanse I am using. I will email you the product that my masseuse recommended. I have only used it for a week and I am feeling a lot lighter and more energetic. Did you know the alkaline sisters were in our BYW class? That’s how I found them!
Aaawe thanx Lori for mentioning us! I still feel like I have sooo much to cover but have lead weights on my feet trying to accomplish it with life going on around me- I still have just the basics of info on the site tabs but really… I am going to get it complete soon- cuz it’s research oriented it takes time to get it accurate. Hats off to you and recognizing your bodies cries for a cleanse. What I learned is that you can cleanse and fast your body or you can cleanse and feast your body- Our bodies are crying out for optimal nutrition that it can really make use of easily. The best way to feed and cleanse is to juice green veggies- no lie here! Esp. if you are feeling under the weather. Chlorophyll is gold for our blood and you will notice an immediate energy boost when you begin a juicing regime and it will give your colon a shower! This alone will take up to 5lbs off which is what some of us have built up in our colon!! I did a full 3 day juice only feast and it was phenomenal. And I wasn’t one bit hungry like I thought I’d be. Then went on to only eat raw for a few months. I was chronically ill so I went cold turkey but it did wonders. I do it a few times a year now. If you want any more info, let me know but juicing is amazing for your body! It’s my most used appliance in the house now!
Thanks Anna! I’ll look for your email!
Julie – no problem. I’m so glad that I found your site through Anna and BYW. I was in the class too. It just seems like so much information and I know it’s going to be hard for me to start because I’m not a veggies person. :-) But I’d love to get some recommendations for juicing recipes or a book with recipes in it. This is so interesting to me!
